Sprouting Forward: Youth Leading the Vision
March is a season of emergence. Seeds break through the soil. New life begins to take shape.
At Newburgh Sanctuary, this is also a time to invest in what comes next. Our youth are not just participants, they are an essential part of the future we are growing together.
Through our Youth Media Parks Team, young people are building skills, finding their voice, and deepening their connection to community and land. As Declan shared:
“Being part of the Media Youth Team helped me grow as a filmmaker and made me more in touch with my community… it helped me decide I want to pursue film in college and for a career.”
This is a reminder that when we create space for youth, when we share knowledge, land, and care, we are planting seeds that will carry forward for generations. If you’re able to support this work, consider making a gift to our Youth Media Program. A contribution of $150 helps fund one week of media learning and leadership for a young person.

• A personalized pdf Wellness Mapping Journal

Collecting Corks for the BlueBlocks Floating Garden
Something exciting is on the horizon at Newburgh Sanctuary… we’re dreaming up floating gardens for the lake, bringing beauty, cleaner water, and hands-on youth engagement to our shared space.
These living platforms are made from reclaimed materials and float on an unexpected foundation: natural corks. We’re beginning to gather corks now as we explore making this vision a reality, and we’d love your help.
Have natural corks to donate? You can drop them off in the barrel marked with the Cork sign on site. Want to get more involved? Reach out and be part of growing something special on the water.
