Growing Together at Crystal Lake
Thank you to everyone who joined us last month to expand our pollinator corridors on both land and water at Crystal Lake. Together, families and neighbors planted a beautiful variety of native species, including Goldenrod, Elderberry tree, Butterfly Weed, Echinacea, Canadian Serviceberry, Mountain Laurel, Swamp Milkweed, and more.
Highlights included launching the floating gardens, first-time canoe experiences, youth measuring the lake's depth, and many hands working together to bring new life to the landscape and balance our eco-system..
It Takes a Village
One of the day's most inspiring moments was watching volunteers spontaneously begin cleaning algae from the shoreline, a powerful reminder of what community care can accomplish when people come together with a shared purpose.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and love: Urania, Amber, Hampton, Evie, Jaycee, Aiden, Elisabeth, Grace, Deidra, Mike, Peter, Gracelyn, Nkoula, Andrés, Jairo, Emmy, Bill, and Gita.
A special thank you to our Youth Media Team, Jeremy, Rosa, and Geovany, for documenting the day, and to Estella from Sabores de mi Tierra for preparing a nourishing meal for all who participated.
