Together, We Celebrated Crystal Lake
What an unforgettable summer day!
To every volunteer, performer, artist, partner, vendor, youth leader, donor, and neighbor who joined us for We Love Crystal Lake, Thank You. Because of you, Crystal Lake was filled with music, laughter, movement, shared meals, creativity, and a deep sense of community.
Over 100 families turned out to celebrate at Crystal Lake! Together, neighbors explored the water by kayak, danced, created nature-inspired art, enjoyed family activities,and shared a delicious community meal. Every smile, conversation, and shared moment helped transform the lake into a true sanctuary of connection, belonging, and joy. 🎬 Check out our video recap to relive the magic.
Moments We'll Remember
From the opening community hike led by Outdoor Promise to the final songs from Daniel Villegas & the Libre Band and Pulso de Barro. We Love Crystal Lake Summer of Love Celebration was an embodied example of a beloved community, a community based on love, justice and respect.
Every activity offered a chance to connect, create, and experience the beauty of Crystal Lake in a meaningful way. Lola Altamarino had everyone moving with Salsa and Zumba, while Los Sabores de Mi Pueblo brought neighbors together over a delicious community meal. 65 Families explored Crystal Lake by kayak with Newburgh Waterways, discovered creativity in nature through hands-on activities with Ashley Martinez, and enjoyed a tarot reading with Angelica, or got a free haircut by Jamier or Julian.
Most of all, we were thrilled to welcome more than 110 neighbors of all ages who came together to laugh, create, dance, explore, and connect. Together, we celebrated not only Crystal Lake, but what it looks like when we come together and share our passions, gather in community and honor our land and waters. Thank you to every person who made the day truly unforgettable.
