A Celebration of Art, Music & Movement
Sounds & Expressions, a partnership with artists Sael Varela & Elle Garmon,lit up Crystal Lake with powerful performances, and creative inspiration where artists, poets, musicians, and makers brought their gifts to life.
Huge thanks to all the amazing artists who made the space come alive: Elle, Joanis, LotuZ, Mista Martín, Johanna G, Kastro, Lourdes, Canai, Chivita, Starkim, Sael, and Juneyourx! And a special shoutout to the vendors who brought their gifts and set the vibe: Hojavii, Elle Nicole, Busta Comics, Mike Granda Art, Chaos, Newburgh Sanctuary and Gnarly Quinn– our coming together elevated the experience!
Pulso De Barro and Sael Varela y Su Orchestra closed the day with liberating energy, while dancers and poets filled the air with rhythm and soul. A special thank you to our Root Supporter, ADS Warehouse for making our community mural possible led by artists Chivita Espacial.
Herbal Medicine Workshop Recap
Huge thanks to Johanna Guevara from Dropping Seeds for guiding us through a transformative Herbal Medicine Workshop. 🌿 We harvested herbs directly from the garden and crafted tinctures, cough syrups, and cleansing wands to carry us through winter. As one of our participant, Louisa, said, “It’s like putting summer in a jar!” Grateful for the wisdom, healing, and connection shared.
Garlic Planting & Winter Bed Prep
We closed out the growing season with our Garlic Planting & Winter Bed Prep day. 🧄 Together we tucked garlic bulbs and love notes into the soil—symbols of patience, growth, and renewal. What a heartwarming morning filled with laughter, reflection, and gratitude for another abundant year of stewardship at Newburgh Sanctuary.
The seasons may shift, but our community roots keep growing. Let’s continue nurturing this land—and each other—through every season.
