FIVE YEARS. ONE COMMUNITY. SO MUCH GROWTH
Since 2020, Newburgh Sanctuary has grown from a shared vision into a thriving community hub—a place where land stewardship, food access, youth leadership, environmental education, wellness, arts, and culture naturally intersect.
Today, as a community-led nonprofit, we care for Crystal Lake by creating free, accessible programs that connect Newburgh residents to the land, to one another, and to opportunities to learn, grow, and lead.
And none of this happens alone.
Together, we’ve invested more than $550,000 directly into ecological restoration, hands-on stewardship, and free community programming at Crystal Lake.
If you believe in what we’re growing together, help us keep this momentum going. Every contribution—at any level—sustains this vital work and ensures our sanctuary remains free and open for all.

NOW, WE NEED YOUR HELP
As a nonprofit organization, Newburgh Sanctuary relies on grants, partnerships and the generosity of people who believe in this work to keep our programs accessible to the community.
Behind every free event, community meal, youth opportunity, garden bed and restoration project are the people, resources and infrastructure required to make it all possible.
As we close out 2026, we need unrestricted support to complete the year, maintain our core operations and enter 2027 on stronger footing.
Whether you give $25, $100, $250, $1,000 or more, your contribution helps sustain a nonprofit and community resource built with and for Newburgh.

Boo-tiful Event Coming to the Sanctuary at Crystal Lake Oct 31st
After Incarceration is bringing a free family Halloween to the Sanctuary this year. Come to the land for trick-or-treating along the Food Forest path, pumpkin painting, mask making, a costume contest, and family portraits by a professional photographer. After dark, a guided haunted trail opens along our existing woodland path.
Please help us look after the land: stay on the marked paths, keep clear of the water's edge and the pollinator beds, and leave the hives alone. Parking here is very limited, so please take the free shuttle.
Funding for this project has been provided by the Awesome Newburgh Foundation.
